CHRIS MORRIS: Ok, now on 1FM, time to look at this week's dance chart with Michael Alexander St. John.

MICHAEL ALEXANDER ST. JOHN: Straight in at number ten for the eighth week running, Little Scruffy Cows and the Boiling Fader remix of "Lets Deafen Lulu".

At nine, it's up three but down five for last week's number seven, The Present Smell of Purfleet and "Lubricated Reeling Occasion".

There are three number eights this week, though none of them are equal. At 8a, it's Tittle Eight with "Brian Blessed in Kelp". 8b is occupied by Village Off Eight and "Bubonic Weasel Toothpaste". And 8c is Thoroughly Urban Sidney and Tracey Jane Gaynor with "I will surf five". (That contains the notorious Brian Wilson gurgling sample.)

And this week's seven, though I personally preferred it at twelve, Burp Mytosis and "Brains of Chutney."

At six, the Todd Terry remix of "Michael Nyman Sings Hammer".

A fat slice of prankster pap at five. Warren Heck and K Frog with "Copper's Femur Crackpipe". I met the guys last week and I tell you, they're a pair of unbelievable jerks.

At four, it's the Pope and Bono Balltampering remix of "Thrushdog" from Canis Ten. And will it be straight in at number one for them next week? Well, only if they drop out altogether by, say, Sunday, and then somehow reenter the list by next Tuesday, when the scores are totted up. I don't know, it's all very exciting.

Down seventeen at three, it slumps for Spherical Jaws and "Hello? Peter Sutcliffe? Oh sorry, wrong number".

Fresh in at no particular position, Bug Cortex and "Laughing at Men of Low Breeding".

So, here it is. For a giant second week at number one, Chums of a Dynamo and "Pummel Me Stupid". You've probably never heard it before, no-one's buying it, the whole thing's rigged, but basically it's all hi-hat and sub-bass. Imagine Gibraltar covered in cake icing. In fact, the only decent thing about this is the sample in the middle of Peter Frampton shooting a lizard.

More like this.
